Dr. Vigo-Sanchez is an El Paso native and excited to be back home serving the El Paso community. Dr. Vigo-Sanchez grew up in El Paso, TX and graduated from Franklin High School. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Houston, where she graduated cum laude with a major in Biology and a minor in Psychology. She then went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry.
During her clinical training, Dr. Vigo-Sanchez gained diverse experience through rotations at the Lighthouse of Houston, with a focus in low vision rehabilitation; the Albuquerque Indian Health Services, where she concentrated on ocular disease management in the Native American population; and the Raymond G. Murphy Albuquerque Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where she provided primary eye care with a special focus in ocular disease and geriatrics.
Following optometry school, Dr. Vigo-Sanchez completed a residency at the Raymond G. Murphy Albuquerque Veterans Affairs Medical Center in primary care optometry with an emphasis on ocular disease. During residency, she also participated in diabetic retinopathy research and presented at numerous academic conferences on ocular disease topics. This advanced training allowed her to strengthen her expertise in diagnosing and managing complex eye conditions, while also caring for a wide range of patients.
Dr. Vigo-Sanchez is passionate about bringing high-quality, compassionate eye care to her hometown. Outside of optometry, Dr. Vigo-Sanchez enjoys making charcuterie boards and spending time with her four dogs and her cat. She is proud to return to El Paso to care for the community that shaped her, and she looks forward to building lasting relationships with her patients.
